Express Entry is an efficient online system designed by the Canadian government to manage immigration applications from skilled workers.
Express Entry manages three key immigration programs:
1. Canadian Experience Class (CEC): For skilled workers with eligible Canadian work experience.
2. Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): For skilled workers with foreign or Canadian work experience.
3. Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): For skilled workers qualified in a trade.
Eligible applicants can also apply for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through Express Entry. Provincial nominations provide extra points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which can fast-track your invitation to apply for permanent residency.
A Step-by-Step Guide
Check if you qualify for one of the three Express Entry programs (CEC, FSWP, or FSTP) based on your work experience, language skills, and education.
Use the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculator to see how your profile ranks based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency.
Submit your details online to join the Express Entry pool, where your profile will be ranked based on your CRS score.
If your CRS score is above the cut-off in a round of invitations, you’ll receive an ITA to apply for permanent residency.
Complete and submit your application within 60 days of receiving your ITA, including all required documents for final processing.
